If you have areas of your concrete floor that are uneven and look unsightly, you can apply a layer of self-leveling concrete to repair the damage. This concrete will solve all your height problems and allows you to control the level of the floor. You probably don't realize that there are issues with a concrete subfloor until you start to install wood flooring on top of it. Then you realize that you have a problem when the planks won't fit together easily.
This concrete is very wet and flows over the floor to create an even surface. Then you use a tool, called a Smoother, which has a flat edge attached to a pole, to smooth out the concrete by pulling it over the surface. The process is amazingly fast. You could resurface the floor of a full house in less than two hours using this type of concrete.
You can color this concrete as well, if you use it on a garage or basement floor. To do this you spray Acetone dyes all over the floor in a random pattern. Then you spray a diluted concrete acid stain on the floor and allow it to dry for about an hour. Then you rinse off this stain to prevent any chemical reaction in the concrete and remove any residue that may still remain.
The final step in applying color to the concrete is to apply a water-based concrete dye over the surface of the floor. You can do this by spraying on the dye and then evening it out suing a large microfibre mop. This will dry overnight and then you apply two coats of sealant and then a finish to give you a perfect floor that will look beautiful in any room of your home.
The best thing about this type of concrete is that you can use it after you move into the home and with the coloring you don't have to apply wood or tile on top of it. If you already have baseboards installed, all you have to do is remove them and start using the concrete to level the floor. Of course, you won't be able to walk on those areas while the concrete is drying, so you may have to make other arrangements for this time period.
